Slua Event Safety Management Consultancy was established by Joanne Moore and Peter Jordan in 2017.
Joanne and Peter have each completed the highly regarded Msc in Emergency Management in DCU and the Higher Diploma in Occupational Safety in UCD. Both are also well established for their work within the event sector. Joanne and Peter are highly regarded as production and safety managers with extensive event experience nationally and internationally. Their combined knowledge and experience offers a nuanced understanding of the live entertainment industry; not alone with regard to ensuring legislative compliance, but also with regard to the business and financial needs of their clients.
This combination of experience in event production and safety training provides Slua with a unique understanding of client needs in the event working environment from all aspects of event creation through to logistics and the needs of load out.
Joanne has over 25 years’ experience working in the events and entertainment industry. Her expansive roles and responsibilities include, safety consultant, event manager, site co-ordinator, occupational health and safety manager, safety officer, event controller, deputy event controller, site manager, site co-ordinator and campsite manager for major events, music festivals and sporting events in a number of different countries:
Ireland - Body & Soul Festival, Tall Ships, Groove Festival, Google Engage, Leinster Rugby, Oxegen, Ryder Cup 2006, The National Hunt Festival as well as numerous other public and corporate events.
Scotland - The Ryder Cup 2014 and T in the Park
England - V Festival, Download, Glastonbury, Carfest North and Carfest South, Big Festival, Great Dorset Steam Fair, and Taste of London and Taste of London Winter.
Worldwide - Top Gear Live in Johannesburg (South Africa), DigiCel Mobile phone launches in the Caribbean Islands of Granada, Barbados and Grand Cayman, The Jamaican Olympic Team home coming celebrations (2008) in Jamaica. Peter's work within the events sector has been within all forms of event and festival production, including live outdoor and indoor concerts.
Peter has worked on large outdoor spectacle, parades, site specific installation, theatre, food markets, experiential marketing platforms and has overseen production and logistics for international theatrical touring in North America, Asia, Oceania and Europe.
Following completion of the Higher Diploma in Occupational Safety in UCD, in 2012, Peter was amongst the first people in the UK to complete a BA(Hons) in Crowd Safety Management.
This study was followed by a Masters in Emergency Management.
